Happy Women’s Day: To Every Woman🩷.
Happy Women’s Day,
To all the women out there
to all the girls who are yet to become women
yet carry all the warmth, pain, and happiness of women
To the women who are strong
who are weak and vulnerable
who cry yet show up and win
who lose yet still show up and smile.
To the women who are mothers, sisters, and daughters
But again, is it only limited to biological conditions
“தாயான பின்பு தான் நீ பெண்மணி?”
At least now half of the audience can understand what is wrong with this idea Only when she becomes a mother she is called a woman?
No, Never.
Motherly feeling isn't restricted to biological conditions alone. As I mentioned in my previous blog, even a five-year-old girl can be a mother to her two-year-old brother. I'm happy to see that nowadays men also take up roles that reflect motherly care. Though we often say a man can never replace a woman, their efforts to feel and express motherly affection, care, and love should be appreciated. Someone who has never given birth to a child can still raise one with the same love as a biological mother. And who knows — she might even exceed that expectation. So let’s not limit the title “mother” only to those who give birth biologically.
Again,
Happy Women’s Day
to those who worry about their appearance
due to normal hormonal changes
due to postpartum changes
or due to the pressure around you
You aren't alone
It's okay to not be size zero
It's okay to have pimples
It's okay to have hair fall
It's okay to feel alone
But yes, as usual
show up
Because that's what we are known for.
To the women
who take care of children
and the house
and to the women
who take care
of themselves
Selfish?
Because a woman
is often equated
with sacrifice
Even self-care
is considered selfish
in this society
A new mom
who decides to step out
For sometime
to escape
from postpartum depression
is called
a bad mother.
An independent woman
coming home late
too tired
to prepare food
is called
a selfish woman.
But in neither case
do those who say such things
step forward
to help
And that includes
both
men
and women.
When you accept yourself
no one becomes your enemy
Your biggest cheerleader
your biggest appreciator
your biggest winner
is YOU.
It takes time
to gain that acceptance
because the world
will never be silent.
Voices around you
filling your ears with false ideas.
Some people
will never change
and will not want you
to change either
They will make you believe
you are assigned
to a certain role.
They will make you believe
you are living your life happily.
They will make you believe
this is what makes you a ' woman' .
But the life is yours
You must be the protagonist
Just remember
the strong voice
they thought was dead
the strong opinions
they never tried to hear
the strong personality
that is ' YOU '.
You decide
what to think
what to say
what to wear
what to love
and how to live
Because it is your 'LIFE'.
