With a Heavy Heart.
Alin Sherin Abraham
We have been hearing this name for the past few days. And through her charitable act, she will be remembered forever — not only in her parents' hearts but also in each and every one of us.
When I saw the picture of the baby, my heart was beating more than the normal rate. It was really difficult to digest. It was really difficult to accept that smile is no more.
But her parents did such a great thing with such strong mentality. Yes, after she had been declared brain dead, her parents, accepted to donate her organs. Because of this choice 5 persons received a second chance to live. She is the youngest organ donor of Kerala.
Just think for a minute how much strength and courage would have been needed for parents to take such a decision.
That too in our society — as I had a conversation with my friend regarding this, she shared that we don’t really allow the dead ones to be touched by a knife again. Still, there are people who avoid postmortem for this reason, even when the death is suspicious. Not only children, even very old age people who are dead are treated like this. That much they believe that one's body after death shouldn't be disturbed, and they call that “torture ” of the soul. They support this with a few religious ideas and already believed conceptions. Yes, we can't blame anyone here, as at the end of the day it's an individual choice whether to donate or not.
In such an era, this parents' decision is really a big thing — something one could never think of. And amidst their pain and sorrow, they decided to give love to others, And for sure, they would believe that their child lives in all five of the recipients who received her organs.
I've written about the toxicity on social media in a few of my blogs, and this continues to happen. I too keep registering it in order to expect some changes.
During the last rites, the parents were sitting near the box in which the baby was kept. In that particular video, at that moment, they didn’t really cry. All they did was look at her with such love and pain. They just kept praying.
And there was such an inhuman, cheap comment saying, “How can a mom be like this, not even shedding a tear? Something is fishy.”
I was like — do they really know what they speak? Just see what we are leading towards.
As I already mentioned, empathy makes a human. But nowadays, people are lacking it. And they don't watch their words at all.
I'm just worried how sick they are, and the people around them will be really suffering.
I hope these people find peace.
I hope these people mind their own business.
I hope these people one day will be devoid of such sick, intoxicated thoughts.
Let's not forget that little angel by focusing on such negative people.
She deserves a heavenly place that no one could have, even God wouldn’t have experienced and seen👼🏻
(I wrote this blog with a heavy heart. Initially, I didn't want to write about this, as this shouldn't be seen as content. But after reading such comments, I couldn't stop myself. And I strongly believe that she must be seen by everyone. And all we have to do is send her off with peace and love)
